DR CHRISTOS THEOLOGOS from GREECE
Dr Christos Theologos, one of Greece’s most respected folklorists, will lead a series of lectures and
workshops exploring the deep roots of Asia Minor dance traditions, including Zeibekiko, Aptalikos,
and Karsilamas group of dances.
His work draws connections between dance, Byzantine traditions, and religious
folklore, highlighting the enduring cultural memory embedded in movement and ritual.
Dr Theologos holds a PhD in Folklore, lectures at the University of the Aegean, is Principal of the Music School
of Rhodes, and is a member of the Hellenic Folklore Company, which has functioned as a scholarly
body since 1908. He is also the Artistic Director of the Workshop of Art and Culture.
Dr Theologos has taught and overseen many shows at the Megaron and famous Hrodion Theatres in Greece, In addition has made numerous appearances on Ert Greek Tv on cultural shows like "Alati tis Gis" and most impressive was of late the cultural advisor for the famous Greek Tv series "MATOMENA XOMATA" by Dido Sotiriou and director Kosta Koutsoumiti. Finally he has taught countless of dance workshops in Greece and abraod for dance groups and associations

program. Zeibekiko Festival is inviting dancers, musicians, singers, artists, theatre groups and

ZEIBEKIKO FESTIVAL CALLING FOR 100 MEN:
100 men aged from 16 to 60 to take part in a unique video and live concert dance presentation, with the
power and tradition of Zeibekiko.
